Have you ever wanted to try drawing and painting? Come along to this introduction course where you will learn the skills and knowledge to become a more confident artist. This course is suitable for beginners.

Who is this course for?
Have you ever wanted to try drawing and painting? Come along to this introduction course where you will learn the skills and knowledge to become a more confident artist. This course is suitable for beginners.

What can I expect to learn?
You will learn to draw and paint with a range of different media, which could include: - Watercolours - Acylics - Oils - Charcoal - Pen and Wash You will also look at aspects of colour theory, composition and perspective within each project and will have the opportunity to produce some exciting work.

How will I know how I am progressing?
You will negotiate your objectives with the tutor at the start of the course and these will be reviewed regularly. The tutor will provide developmental feedback throughout the course to ensure you get the most from your learning with ACL. You will also be expected to keep a sketchbook to record your progress and evidence your achievements.

Will I have any homework?
Yes, you will be expected to keep a sketchbook to make notes and draw; your sketchbook will be used as a method to record your progress and will need to be with you for every live lesson.

What will I need to provide?
Please bring what you can carry for the first session of the course as the centre is a few minutes’ walk from public transport stops / the parking facilities. You will need to provide: - Pencils - 2H, 4B, 6B, 8B. - Rubber and sharpener. - Blending stumps - Sketchbook A4 - Watercolour Pad A4 or bigger 140lb - Brushes 12 flat, size 8, 6 or 4, round, size 1 detail and size 1 or 2 rigger brush (synthetic as these can apply to all paints) - Masking tape. - Water pot Any other media will be discussed as you go and it is recommended that you do not make any expensive purchases before discussing with your tutor.
