What can I expect to Learn?
Learn how to cut hair, from cutting the family's or as a basis for progressing to a professional hairdressing course. A 'blockhead' will need to be purchased (approximately £35) to practise on. Please ensure that the course is running prior to purchasing any equipment.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio. You will also have the opportunity to use online learning technologies to develop your skills.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Learners will complete Individual Learning Progress records • Learners track their progress on a weekly basis on their ILP • Tutor feedback is given individually and as a group during and at the end of each session • Ongoing review of planned learning outcomes, and recording of achievement

Will I need to do extra work at home?
Learners may find it beneficial to work on their tuition head at home

What is the cost of this course?
If you are aged over 19 and in receipt of any State Benefit, except for Child Benefit, Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit (with an income of over £16,190), you will pay the lower fee shown on the web. If you working or not in receipt of any State Benefit, you will pay the higher of the two fees on the web. If you have not lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years, or do not have the right to remain in the UK, you will pay £8.50 for each hour of the course. If you were under 19 at the 31st August 2017, then you are unable to enrol on this course. Please contact 0345 603 7635 to seek further advice on the amount that you will be paying for this course.
