Description

Develop your creative skills whilst exploring the impact of art on the environment. Discover ways to work sustainably and reduce the carbon footprint of your own practice .

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who would like to develop their art skills sustainably through the development of green skills and knowledge.

What can I expect to learn?
You will learn about the fundamentals of sustainability, such as the circular economy and explore how this knowledge can be applied in your art projects to reduce your personal impact on the environment. You will develop sustainable competencies such as self-awareness and critical thinking that will prepare you for employment and/or future study.

How will I know how I am progressing?
You will negotiate personal art objectives with your tutor at the start of the course, in addition to sustainability objectives. You will be provided with verbal and written feedback throughout the course and will be expected to collect a portfolio of evidence either digitally or in a paper format.

Will I have any homework?
Your tutor will set you tasks to complete between sessions to enable you to further apply skills you have learnt.

What will I need to provide?
Please bring to the first session a notepad and a pen and pencil. Your tutor will advise you if you are required to purchase any other materials and you are advised not to make expensive purchases prior to the course start. Please note that where possible recycled and environmentally friendly materials will be used for this course and we advise you to repurpose household items where possible.
