Delve into the world of foraging in this introductory classroom-based workshop. Learn how to identify and forage edible plants responsibly and how to harness foraged ingredients in delicious recipes.

What Qualification/level is this course?
This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development at beginner level.

Who is this course for?
Explore how to forage for food safely and how foraged ingredients can be used in cooking in this introductory workshop We are committed to providing a safe environment for our learners and staff. Please inform staff at enrolment, and the tutor at the start of the lesson, of any medical conditions, food allergies or other circumstances that may affect your progress on this course. .

What can I expect to learn?
You will learn how to forage for food safely and explore how foraged ingredients can be used in cooking. NB: This course does not include the cooking of ingredients during the session, but learners will be advised of recipes that they can try out at home.

How will I learn?
Teaching methods include tutor verbal instruction and demonstration, active participation in practical tasks, group and one-to-one discussions and tutor feedback.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will give you feedback on classroom activities and tasks undertaken.

Will I need to do any work at home?
You are recommended to practice skills at home to develop your confidence to provide simple nutritious meals.

What will I need to provide?
You are encouraged to bring items you may have already foraged or pictures of foods that you would like to identify. Please also bring a notebook and pen.
