Description

If you have a love of flowers but not sure how to make them into spectacular arrangements, then this is the course for you. Learn all the basics floristry industry techniques including how to select the right container, what tools and materials you need and how to use them safely, selecting suitable flowers and foliage and how to prepare them for a lasting display that has the wow factor.

What Will Happen At My First Lesson
At the start of the course you will complete an assessment and study skills to support you in the achievement of the qualification. You will receive information about the course content.

Examinations Venue Disclaimer
This qualification does not have a written exam at the end of the course but is achieved by the completion and submission of a short digital portfolio.

What Qualification/level is this course?
This course leads to an NCFE Creative Craft Entry Award (Please note Floristry will not listed on the NCFE certificate). ACL will provide a certificate to confirm Floristry has been studied.

Who is the course for?
This course is for complete beginners who want to learn flower arranging techniques with confidence and gain skills in the area.

What can I expect to learn?
You will learn: 1.To design a project including - 2.Selecting the correct flowers and sundries. 3.How to organise materials. 4.Prepare fresh and sundry resources. 5.Create a visually appealing flower arrangement. 6.To use tools and equipment safely.

How will I learn?
You will negotiate your objectives with the tutor at the start of the course and these will be reviewed regularly. You will create a short digital portfolio to record your progress and evidence your achievements.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You tutor will set targets with you the start of the course and you receive developmental feedback throughout the course. You will keep a small digital portfolio of your work.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
Yes, each week there will be recommended homework/practice that the tutor will encourage you to complete. You will also have to source your own flowers and sundries.

What will I need to provide?
You will need to provide your own flowers and foliage every other week. Your tutor will advise you of resources required at the assessment session and throughout the course. It will be beneficial to have access to a computer or laptop.

Are there any other costs?
You will need to provide flowers, foliage which can cost up to £35.00 over the seven weeks. Costs are kept as low as possible dependent on projects chosen and cost of flowers throughout the year. You may be entitled to some support with the cost of resources, please contact customer services for more information.
