This course is designed to help you build the core management skills and knowledge to develop yourself as a leader and enable you to organise and motivate teams.

What Qualification / level is this course?
ILM Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Examination Venue Disclaimer
This course requires you to complete a portfolio of written assignments to evidence your knowledge, and dependant on the units you choose with your assessor and employer, you may also need to produce skills evidence. Your course work will be assessed consistently throughout the programme by your Tutor. Your portfolio of course work will also be moderated by an Internal Quality Assurer to ensure that your work meets the standards of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) before a Certificate can be claimed.

Who is the course for?
This qualification is suitable if you have management responsibilities but no formal training and would like to develop your abilities. It is particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressure.

What can I expect to learn?
The units in this qualification fall into seven broad areas. These are: Core management skills, such as understanding how to organise and delegate Ability to perform management tasks,manage projects, lead meetings Team leadership for example, how to motivate people to improve performance Change and innovation, such as plan and manage change, create a culture of innovation A full range of communications skills Managing people and relationships, negotiation, networking, building relationships Leadership - understand leadership, use action learning to develop your leadership capabilities. You can work with your tutor and employer to select suitable units that relate to your job role and organisation to develop any skills gaps.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching and learning methods, for example verbal instructions and explanations, one to one discussions with question and answers and computer-based research. Verbal and written feedback and guidance.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will monitor your progress throughout the course during monthly one to one phone calls or Teams meetings and by marking and assessing submitted work via an online platform. You will receive verbal and written feedback and guidance to enable you to measure your own achievement, progress and areas for development. Your tutor will regularly set you targets to keep you on track with learning, to enable you to complete the course in a timely manner.

Will I have to do work at home?
We recommend at least 6-8 hours a week to complete research and home study. This course will take between 14 to 18 months to complete.

What will I need to provide?
Pen and paper/pad for taking notes during your one to one calls Access to a computer to complete work and to access the online learning platform, Learning Assistant and the communication platforms,Teams. Telephone for one to one discussions with your Tutor

Are there any other costs?
This course is no longer funded by the government. This course is now only available as a full cost course. The price is £2,000.
