Are you considering an Access to HE or Higher Education course? This short taster session will enable you to assess your readiness for Higher Education by understanding the skills and attributes required to be successful in higher education. You will have an opportunity to complete a realistic self-evaluation of your personal strengths and weaknesses in terms of general HE requirements.

This course is for personal development and does not lead to a qualification

Anyone with an interest in trying this subject

What can I expect to learn?
This is taster/short course designed to give you an experience of the subject you have chosen. It will include practical activities to engage and inspire you while developing your knowledge of the subject. All sessions will include the materials that you need to undertake the planned learning activities, unless stated in the course descriptor. These ‘have a go’ sessions are intended to develop your love of learning in the informal group learning environment that adult community learning prides itself on.

How will I learn?
The session will be interactive and your tutor will guide you through the learning activities to ensure that you achieve the course outcomes.

How will I know how well I am doing?
There will be opportunities during the session to discuss your progress with your tutor and fellow learners and receive constructive developmental feedback to support you in achieving the most from the course. You will be encouraged to reflect on what you have learnt and provide us with your written feedback on the experience in your taster session individual learning plan.

Will I have to do any work at home?
There is no requirement for additional homework, however your tutor will provide suggestions on further learning to broaden your understanding of this subject.
