What can I expect to learn?
Unit 01 Understanding neuroscience in early years In this unit, learners will understand neuroscience and the early development of the brain. They will understand neurons, synaptogenesis and how the social brain develops. Unit 02 Understanding self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to seven years. In this unit, the learner will understand the limbic system and selfregulation. They will understand self-regulation and the factors that can affect its development. They will also learn about the three types of stress and about adverse childhood experiences. The learner will also learn to distinguish between behaviourist and relational approaches to behaviour management.

How will I learn?
Your online self-paced course is provided to you through e-learning workbooks. There are 2 mandatory units.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor will give feedback as appropriate throughout the course to help you gauge your progress. This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured. The assessment consists of one component: an internally assessed portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE.

Will I have to do any work at home?
This is an online self-study course. You will ahve access to e-learing workbooks and you will worked throught the required units at your own pace. Your tutor will be monitoring your progress and ensure that you are completing assessments of your knowledge and understanding.

What will I need to provide?
You will need access to a laptop or PC with audio and webcam facility, internet connection and Google Chrome browser, an email address and be able to access websites. Notepad and pen for note taking.
