Level 2 - Adult Social Care Certificate qualification is an Ofqual-regulated, accredited qualification. It focuses on a baseline standard of knowledge, skills, and behaviours for those working in adult social care. Learners will build confidence in delivering high-quality care and improve understanding of best practice and professional standards. Based on the Care Certificate standards (mapped to 16 standards), it includes workplace-based observational assessment along with set knowledge-based assessments, and other evidence gathered through practice in real care settings. This is a portable qualification is recognised across employers, therefore reduces duplication of training. Typical completion time 10 months.

What Qualification/level is this course?
The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is an Ofqual-regulated qualification based on the Care Certificate Standards. It focuses on the core knowledge, skills and behaviours required for working in adult social care settings.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be working with adults in a care setting.
- GCSE's in English and maths at grade 3 - 5 or equivalent desirable
Application Process
Learners will:
Complete an online application form.
Undertake an Initial Assessment test that includes English.
Have an interview with an ACL team member to assess suitability and eligibility.
Employers will: Provide consent to ACL for the learner to be enrolled.

of ways. Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence, including:

- Workplace observations

- Professional discussions
Assessment is internally assessed by our health and social care team.
Progress reviews take place every 12 weeks with: Learner, Coach, Employer/line manager
How will I know how well I am doing?
The tutor will communicate with learners through the online platform, telephone, and Microsoft Teams meeting.
Work will be regularly assessed and marked, and learners will be provided with encouraging developmental feedback. Learners will also be set targets at different stages of the course to enable personal and course objectives to be met.
Reviews of progress will be carried out every 12 weeks with the learner, their line manager and the tutor.
Will I need to do any work at home?
We recommend approximately: 4 - 6 hours per week for study, research, and evidence building.
What will I need to provide?
Learners will need:
- Access to a computer or device
- Internet access for online learning platform
- Ability to attend tutor sessions (online or face-to-face)
- Basic stationery for notetaking
Are there any other costs?
Course costs are discussed prior to enrolment.

What can I do once I’ve finished this course?

On completion, learners can progress to:
