What Qualification/level is this course?
This Level 4 qualification is designed to develop learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours required for leadership roles within adult care settings. The qualification combines underpinning theoretical knowledge with workplace competence, supporting high-quality care and positive outcomes for individuals. The qualification is flexible and supports a wide range of adult care settings, enabling learners to contextualise their practice and specialise within their role. It also meets sector expectations and supports progression within the regulated care workforce. - Credit value: 70 credits - Duration: typically, 15 - 18 months

Entry Requirements
Applicants must: Be working with adults in a care setting. GCSE's in English and maths at grade 4/C or equivalent or be deemed able to work towards the required level as part of the programme.

Application Process
Learners will: Complete an online application form Undertake an Initial Assessment test that includes English. Have an interview with an ACL team member to assess suitability and eligibility Employers will: Provide consent to ACL for the learner to be enrolled.

Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at Deputy Managers, Advanced Practitioners or Senior Care Workers, Social Care Officers or Supervisors. Learners must be working in a role where they: - Have responsibility for leading practice or supporting others in a team - Can demonstrate competence in supervising or coordinating care delivery - Can gather workplace evidence to meet assessment requirements - Contribute to decision-making that impacts individuals’ care and outcomes - Work within an adult care setting with opportunities to demonstrate leadership behaviours and professional practice

What can I expect to learn?
The qualification covers a wide range of core units, including: - Work in partnership in health and social care or children and young people’s settings - Advanced communication skills - Personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings - Equality and diversity in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings - Facilitate person centred assessment to support wellbeing of individuals - Facilitate support planning to ensure positive outcomes for individuals and to support wellbeing - Understand personalisation in care and support services - Health and safety in health and social care settings - Professional practice in health and social care for adults or children and young people - Safeguard children and young people who are present in the adult social care sector - Develop, maintain and use records and reports - Understand safeguarding and protection in health and social care settings Optional units may include: - Leading and managing a team - Professional supervision - Research in health and social care - Sharing best practice

How will I learn?
Our blended approach means that our programmes are flexible and enable learners to experience a range of learning and support opportunities in a variety of ways including: - Workplace assessment and observations - Online learning via e-portfolio systems - One-to-one coach support - Taught sessions with a trainer Learners are supported to apply their knowledge in real workplace settings, ensuring competence in practice.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence, including: - Written assignments - Verbal questioning - Workplace observations - Witness testimonies - Professional discussions Assessment is internally assessed by our health and social care team. Progress reviews take place every 12 weeks with: Learner, Coach, Employer/line manager

Will I have to do any work at home?
We recommend at least 10 to 12 hours a week to complete research, reading and home study.

What will I need to provide?
You will need: - Access to a computer or device - Internet access for online learning platform - Ability to attend sessions (online or face-to-face) - Basic stationery for notetaking
