Description
This course is live online for six weeks. In the ACL Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme, this course offers an introduction to strategies to help build self-confidence, looking at self-awareness, assertiveness, negotiation and personal skills. The course will take place in an online classroom, with group learning facilitated by two tutors. You will need a laptop or PC with current operating system, webcam, microphone, Google browser, internet connection and be able to access websites. Our Mental Health curriculum is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents to improve their wellbeing. To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex

To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex.
This course is for those wishing to improve their self-confidence and mental wellbeing.
What can I expect to learn?
You will gain an introduction to strategies to help improve self-confidence, understand the difference between self confidence and self esteem, learn effective techniques for positive communication, assertive skills as well as helpful negotiation tips and strategies to use in everyday situations to help boost your self confidence.
How will I learn?
This course is live online in weekly class sessions. Classes are with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Learning activities will include tutor presentations, group discussions, group and individual activities, individual reflection and a chance to ‘check-in’ at each session in a supportive learning environment.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor will give feedback as appropriate in short course to help you gauge your progress and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own development.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life to help develop personal strategies in building self-confidence.
What will I need to provide?
You will need a laptop or PC with current operating system, webcam, microphone, Google browser, internet connection. A notepad and pen for notetaking.
