This level 4 apprenticeship is designed for individuals that work within a project-based job role and wish to develop project managerment skills.

Duration
Typical duration to gateway - 18 months (this does not include EPA period). EPA Period - 5-months (for project completion)

Occupation Profile
Projects can be defined and delivered within different contexts, across diverse industry sectors. They can be large or small. Every project needs to be managed to ensure its success. An Associate Project Manager knows what needs to be achieved, how it will be achieved, how long it will take, how much it will cost, and works with the project team to achieve the required outcomes. An Associate Project Manager utilises resources with suitable skills, qualifications, experience and knowledge to work together in a motivated and integrated team, with clearly defined reporting lines, roles, responsibilities and authorities. Dependent upon the size of the organisations and the complexity of projects, Associate Project Managers' job titles will vary, but typically they can include: Assistant Project Manager, Junior Project Manager, Project Team Leader. Some organisations use 'Project Manager' as a generic job title.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must: Those without a C grade or equivalent in Maths and/or English (GCSE) will be required to complete functional skills Level 2 courses alongside the apprenticeship Have been employed in a relevant role and gained atleast 12 months experience. Have the support of their employer to undertake the programme

Commitment
6 hours a week (based on a 30 hour week) of a learner's contracted hours must be given to support the completion of the programme. Maths and English may need to be undertaken in addition to the main qualification depending on previous attainment in these areas. The learner will be required to undertake research, reading and write ups to support their learning. Theprogramme requires 100% commitment from the learner & employer to ensure successful completion.

Delivery
Our blended approach means that our programmes are flexible and enable apprentices to experience a range of learning and support opportunities in avariety of formats such as online or at a local ACL centre, such as group class sessions. The apprentice will have a dedicated tutor who they will meet (online or face to face) a minimum of once a month who will guide them through their apprenticeship and prepare them for their End Point Assessment. Reviews of progress are carried out every 12 weeks with the learner, their line manager and the tutor.

End Point Assessment (EPA)
End Point Assessment (EPA) takes place at the end of the apprenticeship programme and is a comprehensive holistic assessment of the skills, knowledge and behaviours required as laid out in the apprenticeship standard. The Level 4 Associate Project Manager EPA is made up of: Presentation supported by portfolio of evidence - This is the most effective method of assessing the Apprentice's demonstration of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in the workplace. This form of assessment provides flexibility for the Apprentice to demonstrate competency, at the required level, as it relates to their role. This EPA has 2 assessment methods.. Assessment method 1 - written project report with presentation and questioning.: Assessment method 2 - professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.: The result from each assessment method is combined to decide the overall apprenticeship grade.

Progression
Progression Routes Once you have completed this qualification at Level 4, there are several progression routes available, dependant on your industry and job role: Level 6 Project Manager, Level 5 Operations Manager or higher education.

What will I learn?
Duty 1 Support the project team in delivering the lifecycle of a project. Duty 2 Review, analyse, and provide feedback on a business case to ensure the project remains valid. Duty 3 Contribute to and deliver elements of the stakeholder engagement process to commence and progress project delivery and collaborate with stakeholders to communicate the project plan. Duty 4 Develop, update, and continually review, relevant sections of the project scope document. Duty 5 Prepare documents or diagrams which illustrate and deliver the key milestones and stages of a project schedule. Duty 6 Plan the resources required to deliver a project or the activities within the project. Duty 7 Use quality management systems to ensure that project delivery meets legislative and local requirements. Duty 8 Identify and manage risks and opportunities, to drive the successful delivery of the project. Duty 9 Contribute to the production and presentation of the key project documents through governance to gain approval. Duty 10 Monitor and report on budget forecast, spend and variance. Duty 11 Collate, analyse, and report on data relating to project performance. Duty 12 Monitor performance trends and process change controls to support the management of project scope. Duty 13 Review the project and report on lessons learned which contribute to continuous improvement for future project delivery. Duty 14 Contribute to the project objectives and key performance indicators which drive and improve performance and sustainability goals.

Who is this course for?
Project professionals with 1 to 2 years project experience and already working as a project manager or within a project support role and across a range of project competencies. As a project specialist you will have experience of interacting with a range of project stakeholders, familiar with taking the lead in areas of the project and now looking develop your professional credentials as the next step in your career. This role could be found working in a range of environments e.g. in Logistics, Retail, Manufacturing, Construction, IT sectors as well as more specialised areas. An employee in this occupation will be responsible for fulfilling the duties in compliance with legislation, project governance, organizational policies, and procedures, as well as interacting with colleagues, stakeholders, and subject matter experts across the project environment.
