Description
Are you ready to continue your journey to becoming an artist, feeling inquisitive, creative and open-minded then this course is just for you? Use a variety of materials working in art and design while working towards a series of subject briefs experimenting with different techniques and media. Please note learners new to undertaking creative qualifications will do an assessment and study skills at the start of the course to gain the nationally recognised qualification.
There will be a 30 minuite break for lunch, please bring lunch with you

Learners new to qualifications will need to complete an assessment at the start of the course. You will also be given information about the course content.

This qualification does not have a written exam as the qualification is achieved by the completion and submission of a digital portfolio.
What Qualification/level is this course?
The course leads to an NCFE Level 2 Creative Craft Award.
(Please note this is a generic qualification and art and design will not be listed on the NCFE certificate as the craft studied. ACL can provide a certificate to confirm art and design has been studied.
Who is the course for?
This course is for those who have completed the Creative Craft Level 1 Award (using Art and Design) or who have some basic knowledge.
If you considering progressing to a higher level in art and design this course will be suitable for you.
What can I expect to learn?
The objectives of the qualification are to enable learners to:
- Develop a portfolio of work in art and design
- Use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely and develop craft techniques
- Develop craft ideas
- Create, present and evaluate final art and design item.
The objectives of the qualification are to enable learners to develop their use and understanding of art materials and use these to develop art and design ideas and final outcomes.
The course will include digital content including the use of Microsoft Teams as well as Padlet to allow the sharing of work.
How will I learn?
You will learn through a range of different techniques, including demonstration, discussion, practical activities, reflection and critiquing.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will be encouraged to reflect on your learning through regular assessments and feedback from your tutor.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
It is recommended that you complete weekly research and tasks to get the most out of your learning.
What will I need to provide?
Please bring any art resources you have to the first session as well as -
A camera or camera phone
A4 Sketchbook
HB Pencils
Pen
Are there any other costs?
You will need to buy your own resources. The tutor will advise at the first session what is required throughout the course.
Costs are kept as low as possible dependent on projects chosen.
