Description
This 4 week course will give you all the information and qualifications you need to become an ACL Ambassador volunteer. If you would like to have an informal chat with your local ACL Ambassador co-ordinator about this course, then please email us at ACLPAV@essex.gov.uk.
What s this course about?
This is an adults only course for all new parent ambassadors. It will give you all the tools you need to start your volunteering role.
This is a LIVE interactive course so you will need to log on at the given time to access the course.
Who is the course for?
This course is for new parent ambassadors living in Essex.
What can I expect to learn?
This is a comprehensive programme where you will learn all the essential skills you need to start your volunteering role. Our course also includes Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.
How will I learn?
There will be a taught element to the course with sessions facilitated by a tutor in an informal and relaxed environment. There will also be weekly self-directed study.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will be given tutor feedback at the end of each task. The tutor will work with you to support you with any individual issues that you may be experiencing.
Will I have to do any work at home?
There will be tasks set to complete and you will be expected to use these new skills in your volunteering role.
What will I need to provide?
A laptop, phone or tablet with access to the internet as this course is being delivered online.
GUIDANCE FOR ONLINE SESSIONS
1. Online sessions are hosted via Microsoft Teams
2. A link will be sent to your email address between 1 to 24 hours prior to the session commencing
3. Please check your junk/spam folder, as sometimes the session links are sent here by your email provider
4. If you are signing up to a course less than 24 hours of the course start time, or after the first session has commenced, please enrol on the course and email aclfamilylearning@essex.gov.uk

You will also discuss other opportunities which will enhance your skills further and enrolment onto Part 2 of the course, which will include reflection on your experience and the relationships you have built.
