Description

This course will provide you with the tools and techniques to conduct a proactive job search, for example planning and targeting specific job roles, identifying the best places to post your CV, building a profile that highlights the skills that employers are looking for.

Who is the course for?
For those who are actively seeking work and would like to build their confidence and refresh their job searching skills, to increase their chances in gaining an interview and in turn employment. Please note: There is no formal qualification attached to this workshop.

What can I expect to learn?
How to plan and prepare for a proactive job search. How to target your job applications. How to relate your skills and interest to potential job opportunities. The best ways to directly approach employers and agencies. Online job sites and how to use them effectively.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching and learning methods, for example; Verbal instructions and explanations, One to one support and feedback, Question and Answers, Discussion, Handouts, Power Point presentations

How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will monitor progress throughout the session by observing interaction and activities, asking questions and giving verbal feedback.

Will I have to do any work at home?
We recommend you embed the tools and techniques learnt when proactively seraching for work.

What will I need to provide?
You will need to have access to Microsoft Teams and be able to install the programme onto your computer or phone. Your computer/phone must have a camera and microphone facility. Pen and paper/pad for taking notes.

Are there any other costs?
No, however your tutor may recommend further reading, research and/or websites for further independent exploratory learning.
