This course offers an introduction to how food affects body, mind and wellbeing. Discover foods for healing, health and immunity; learn about nutrients, superfoods and how to make good food choices including seasonal and local foods to enjoy a healthy balanced diet to feel and live well. Explore ways to enhance your wellbeing through mindful eating and food preparation that develop your healthy, happy daily eating habits.

Who is this course for?
Anyone interested in understanding good nutrition for mental and physical health and wellbeing.
What can I expect to Learn?
Learn about food for mood, the impact of food on brain health, food and physical health, categories of nutrients that the body needs to acquire from food. Learn about superfoods and food intolerances and how you can make good food choices to achieve a healthy balanced diet that promotes your health and wellbeing, including seasonal, local foods. Be aware of how our food is grown and sourced and the environmental impact of our choices. Look at mindful eating and food preparation, review our daily habits to move forward on a healthy habit journey.
How will I learn?
This course is live online, with tutor and group meeting in a virtual classroom. A range of teaching and learning activities including tutor presentations and group and individual discussion and activities, reference to online resources.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor feedback, evaluation activities and self-reflection will enable you to understand your progress. Assessment will be on-going throughout the course linked to an individual learning plan to be regularly updated with learner and tutor feedback.
Will I need to do extra work at home?
Yes you will be encouraged to reflect on your learning each week to develop skills. Learning resources and internet links to further information supports learning between sessions.
What will I need to provide?
Internet connection, up to date operating system and internet browser software.
A notepad and pen for notetaking.
