Description
Take a step out of the everyday and into the calming, relaxing world of meditation to truly experience the here and now. This course explores the benefits of meditation in learning to control/manage or reduce negative thinking to gain an inner sense of wellbeing. Gain an understanding of the history and practices of meditation along with how to introduce this into your everyday life.

Anyone with an interest in the subject, no previous experience required.
What can I expect to Learn?
Learn about the benefits of meditation and mindfulness in learning to control/manage or reduce our habits of negative thinking. Gain an understanding of the history and development of meditation along with practical activities that supporttechniques and methods in applying meditation and mindfulness that work for you.
How will I learn?
This course is live online, with tutor and group meeting in a virtual classroom. A range of teaching and learning activities including tutor presentations and group and individual discussion and activities, reference to online resources.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor feedback, evaluation activities and self-reflection will enable you to understand your progress. Assessment will be on-going throughout the course linked to an individual learning plan to be regularly updated with learner and tutor feedback.
Will I need to do extra work at home?
Yes you will be encouraged to reflect on your learning each week and practice the techniques learnt to develop skills and apply them to your everyday lifestyle. Learning resources and internet links to further information supports learning between sessions.
What will I need to provide?
Internet connection, up to date operating system and internet browser software.
A notepad and pen for notetaking.
