What's this course about?
On this adult only course, find out more about what the English children learn at school and learn how to communicate with the school about your children.
Who is the course for?
This course is for parents/carers whose English is a second language.
What can I expect to learn?
You will find out how children learn English in schools so you can support your child. We will cover conversation as well as spelling, grammar and punctuation.
How will I learn?
All sessions are informal and will include practical tasks to try and complete.
The session will be facilitated by the tutor in an informal and relaxed environment.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will be given tutor feedback at the end of each task. The tutor will work with you to help you to think about your progress and decide on points where you may need more practice.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
Generally, there is no requirement for any work at home, but you may want to practice skills learnt. Some course may require extra activities and reflections from home, but this will be discussed further during your first session with the tutor.
What will I need to provide?
A pen and paper.
