Description

This one day course will equip the learner to achieve the required knowledge and skills in order to become qualified to confidently administer first aid within a work environment.
There will be a 30 min lunch break, please bring lunch with you

Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for those who have the specific responsibility at work to provide first aid within a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also suitable for those who are needed to provide basic first aid within a voluntary and community basis.

What can I expect to learn?
This one day course will provide the learner with the skills and knowledge to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations such as: CPR (including AED usage), choking, unconscious casualty, shock, bleeding and minor injuries.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will be discussing and demonstrating how to use the first aid equipment confidently and safely for both you and the casualty. You will be required to work both individually and in pairs/groups to demonstrate your competence when assessed as well as undertaking a multiple choice test at the end of the session.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will provide feedback throughout your training day when observing your first aid skills and checking your knowledge. In order to achieve the Level 3 award, you must demonstrate to your tutor your competence at delivering first aid as well as being required to take a multiple choice test. At the end of the session, you will be informed of your success.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
No, but it is always a good idea to practise your skills

What will I need to provide?
Comfortable clothing, closed toe footwear, pen/pencil and notepad.

Are there any other costs?
There are no extra costs associated with this course

What can I do next?
Progress to the Combined Emergency First Aid at Work and Emergency Paediatric First Aid course which runs over three days. This course has been specifically designed for those who work in settings that require both First Aiders and Paediatric First Aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.
