Description

Take your artistic skills to the next level. Push the boundaries, experimenting with new mediums and styles and exploring more complex concepts in art.

New learners will undertake an assessment and study skills at the start of the course to gain the nationally recognised qualification.

What Will Happen At My First Lesson
You will complete an assessment and study skills to support you in the achievement of the qualification. Full details of the course content will be covered.

This qualification does not have a written exam as the qualification is achieved by the completion and submission of a digital portfolio.

What Qualification/level is this course?
The course leads to an NCFE Level 2 Creative Craft Award. (Please note this is a generic qualification and art will not be listed on the NCFE certificate as the craft studied. ACL can provide a certificate to confirm art has been studied.

Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for those who have completed the Level 1 or have some experience in the subject area.

What can I expect to learn?
To use different materials and resources to develop observational drawing skills and painting techniques. You will learn how to adapt ideas creatively through exploring the properties of pencil, charcoal and dry drawing media along with a range of painting methods which include watercolour and so much more. Researching styles and genres of other artists and how they can influence your approach to drawing and painting. You will plan, create and evaluate a piece of artwork for your final project. To complete a digital portfolio.

How will I learn?
Objectives will be negotiated with the tutor at the start of the course and will be reviewed regularly. You will create a short digital portfolio to evidence your achievements for the qualification.

How will I know how well I am doing?
The tutor will provide developmental feedback throughout the course and support you in recording your work digitally to meet the qualification criteria.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to research at home and work on your digital portfolio.

What will I need to provide?
Please bring any art materials you have.

Are there any other costs?
You will need to buy your own resources. The tutor will advise at the first session what is required throughout the course. Costs are kept as low as possible dependent on projects chosen. You may be entitled to some support with the cost of the resources, speak to customer services or visit the website for more information.
