Digital skills are now an essential part of our lives. If English is not your first language and you want to boost your digital abilities for job applications or enhance the skills you already use at work, our Digital Skills for Work course is perfect for you. It will help you learn how to navigate and utilise office applications, ensure online safety and etiquette, manage email communication, write CVs, conduct job searches, and use internet resources for research and professional networking.
If you are not already enroled onto an ESOL course with ACL, you will need to complete an initial assessment and attend a pre-course interview with a tutor before starting. During the interview, you will be able to discuss all the options available to you and any concerns you may have.

This course will provide a basic level of training in Digital Skills.

How will I learn?
Classroom-based learning will include a mix of demonstrations, discussions, and extensive hands-on practice using devices in our IT suites. An experienced tutor will be available to assist and guide you at all times.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will undertake tasks and receive feedback on your performance. Feedback may be verbal or written. You will record your progress on an individual learning plan, which will allow you to track your development throughout the course. This plan will help you identify areas of improvement and celebrate your achievements, giving you a clear understanding of how well you are doing.
Will I need to do extra work at home?
No formal homework will be assigned, but it is highly recommended that you practice your new skills outside of class. Applying what you learn in real-life situations will reinforce your understanding and help you gain confidence in using your digital skills effectively.
What will I need to provide?
You will need a notepad and pen for taking notes. As a learner with us, you will have access to the online version of Office 365. Please note that the online version may have different features compared to the desktop versions you may have used before.
