Description

This is a vocational course for learners who would like to develop their coaching and mentoring knowledge and skills in the workplace. The qualification will require at least 4 to 6 hours a week to complete research, reading, and assignments to complete this qualification within 12- 14 months.

Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

Who is this course for?
Individuals that are coaching and/or mentoring in a range of workplace settings that want to enhance their skills, knowledge and understanding to provide effective coaching and mentoring support to learners to improve performance. Learners must be occupationally competent in the vocational area in which they are providing coaching and mentoring.

What can I expect to learn?
This qualification covers the core skills, knowledge and understanding needed to support other learners in a coaching and mentoring capacity. The qualification comprises 5 Mandatory units which cover the following areas: 1. Understanding mentoring 2. Mentoring Practice 3. Engaging Learners in the Learning and Development Process 4. Preparing for the Coaching Role 5. Coaching Skills.

How will I learn?
Learners will be supported throughout the programme by a tutor, through monthly one to one learning sessions. The tutor will set SMART targets and advise learners of the wider reading required. Assessment methods: Portfolio of Evidence Practical Demonstration/Assignments Observation Professional Discussion/Vocational competence discussion Please note: Learners will need a minimum of 2 colleagues to Coach and 2 colleagues to Mentor

How will I know how well I am doing?
A tutor will monitor progress throughout the course by assessing assignments and product-based evidence, providing developmental feedback. The tutor will observe you in your coaching/mentoring setting and will provide feedback.

Will I need to do any work at home?
The qualification will require at least 4 to 6 hours a week to complete research, reading, and assignments to complete this qualification within 12- 14 months.

What will I need to provide?
Learners will need access to a laptop with MS Office software, such as MS Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Learners will need a minimum of two individuals that they can complete a coaching journey with from start to finish (multiple meetings, minimum of 6 sessions) with a meaningful goal being achieved at the end. Learners will need a minimum of two individuals that they can complete a mentoring journey with (must not be the same individuals used for coaching)
