Description
The Certificate for Supporting Teaching & Learning at Level 3 is appropriate for experienced members of the school workforce who directly support the teaching and learning of pupils. Typically, the course can be completed in 18 months.
Introducing the qualification
The Certificate for Supporting Teaching & Learning at Level 3 is appropriate for experienced members of the school workforce who directly support the teaching and learning of pupils. The Qualification aims to give learners an opportunity to develop a solid understanding of the supporting role in schools and provides a recognised qualification for employees within the sector.
Duration
There will be an expectation for candidates to achieve the Certificate for Supporting Teaching & Learning within 12 months.
Assessment
Assessment is through submission of evidence in a portfolio to demonstrate that the requirements are met to a relevant standard
Entry requirements
There are no formal qualification requirements, but candidates will undertake an initial assessment to determine the appropriate level and optional units. Candidates must be in an appropriate job role to collect the relevant evidence, working/volunteering for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Learners must working within the county of Essex.
Qualification structure
Candidates must gain a minimum of 32 credits achieved by taking mandatory units to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject as well as demonstrate competence in the workplace.
Delivery methods
An assessor will be assigned to the workplace to support the candidate through the qualification. This will involve observation of the candidate in the workplace. There will also be workshops either online or at one of our ACL centres, to support the candidate through the knowledge and understanding. Other options may be available.
Competence based units are assessed in the workplace, using observation, witness testimonies, work products, candidate accounts and questioning.
What happens next?
Complete an enrolment form. Each candidate will be contacted to complete an induction where the course will be explained further. Candidates will be notified by letter of the commencement of the course and lesson dates.
