Description
A 2-week live online course in the ACL Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme offering strategies to enable you to develop an effective approach to developing and maintaining positive habits to support and improve your wellbeing. The course offers group learning facilitated by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health and is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents' wellbeing. To be eligible to enrol you must reside or work in Essex. No more than one course in the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme to be taken per week in order to apply learning in daily life before further courses are undertaken. You will need a current laptop/PC with webcam, microphone, internet connection and be able to access websites.

This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development at beginner level.
Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex.
This course is for those wishing to gain an introduction to the concepts of mental health wellbeing,
What can I expect to learn?
You will learn tools and strategies to develop positive habits that will support your wellbeing. You will gain an understanding of how habits are formed and the benefits of maintaining positive habits. Identify any current helpful habits and choose an area which you would like to work on. Identify a new habit and create a plan to implement it using tools and strategies explored on the course.
How will I learn?
This course is online with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. The course will be taught in one online class per week for two weeks, by tutor presentations, group discussion, group and individual activities, with learning supported by online resources.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutors will give feedback as appropriate in a short course to help you gauge your progress and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own development.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to reflect on your learning between sessions and apply understanding in everyday life.
What will I need to provide?
A laptop or PC with audio and webcam and current operating system, internet connection with Google Chrome browser software. A notepad and pen for notetaking.
What is the cost of this course?
There is no charge for this course.
