Description

A 2-week live online course in the ACL Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme. Whether in life or work, many are faced with new challenges and anxiety can easily be triggered. The course offers group learning facilitated by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health and is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents' wellbeing. To be eligible you must reside or work in Essex. No more than one course in the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme to be taken per week in order to apply learning in daily life before further courses are undertaken. You will need a current laptop/PC with webcam, microphone, internet connection and be able to access websites.

This course does not lead to a qualification

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex. This course is for those wishing to develop and build a positive approach to developing and maintaining good health and wellbeing during times of change. This course is not suitable for those who are currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty or psychological confusion.

What can I expect to learn?
Topics include: Identify your own current challenges in life or work; explore techniques to manage changes that you are experiencing; identify tools to encourage resilience and positivity; identify opportunities that change presents for your own growth and development.

How will I learn?
This course is held live online in a virtual classroom. Classes are with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Learning activities will include tutor presentations, group discussions, sharing ideas, group and individual activities, individual reflection and a chance to ‘check-in’ at each session in a supportive learning environment.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Feedback will be given regularly by your course tutors and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own learning and record your feedback in your individual learning journal.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life between sessions, to help develop personal strategies to improve wellbeing.

What will I need to provide?
A laptop or PC with audio and webcam and current operating system, internet connection. A notepad and pen for notetaking.

What is the cost of this course?
There is no charge for this course. This course is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents’ wellbeing.
