Description

A 2-week course in-centre in the ACL Mental Health And Wellbeing Programme exploring causes and impact of overwhelm in our lives. Learn techniques to help you achieve more balance, increase resilience, and regain control through exploring helpful routines and ways of becoming more organised. Reduce negative feelings of stress due to feeling overwhelmed and regain more calmness. The course offers group learning facilitated by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health and is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents' wellbeing. To be eligible you must reside or work in Essex. No more than one course in the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme to be taken per week in order to apply learning in daily life before further courses are undertaken.

What Qualification/level is this course?
This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development.

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex. This course is for those wishing to reduce feelings of overwhelm and take back control over their mental wellbeing. This course is not suitable for those who are currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty or psychological confusion.

What can I expect to learn?
You will identify lifestyle factors that impact on our daily lives and can cause overwhelm and learn time management and prioritising strategies for dealing with them. You will explore the value of creating helpful daily routines in your own life and how this can make a positive difference when dealing with overwhelm.

How will I learn?
Classes are with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Learning activities will include tutor presentations, group discussions, group and individual activities, individual reflection and a chance to ‘check-in’ at each session in a supportive learning environment.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutors will give feedback as appropriate in short course to help you gauge your progress and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own development.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life, to help develop personal strategies to reduce overwhelm.

What will I need to provide?
A notepad and pen for notetaking.

What is the cost of this course?
There is no charge for this course. This course is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents’ wellbeing.
