Description
A 2-week course in-centre in the ACL Mental Health and Wellbeing programme, offering an introduction to strategies towards helping you improve your self-confidence. The course offers group learning facilitated by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health and is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents' wellbeing. To be eligible to enrol you must reside or work in Essex. No more than one course in the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme to be taken per week in order to apply learning in daily life before further courses are undertaken.

This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development.
Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex.
This course is for those wishing to improve their self-confidence and mental wellbeing. This course is not suitable for those who are currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty or psychological confusion.
What can I expect to learn?
You will gain understanding and learn self-help techniques to boost your self-confidence whether at home or at work.
How will I learn?
Classes are with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Learning activities will include tutor presentations, group discussions, group and individual activities, individual reflection and a chance to ‘check-in’ at each session in a supportive learning environment.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutors will give feedback as appropriate in short course to help you gauge your progress and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own development.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life to help develop personal strategies in building self-confidence.
What will I need to provide?
A notepad and pen for notetaking.
What is the cost of this course?
There is no charge for this course. This course is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents’ wellbeing.
