Description

A 6-week course in-centre in the ACL Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme to boost your personal resilience and develop a self-care plan for nutrition, sleep, exercise and relaxation, tips and strategies to achieve an optimistic mind set. The course offers group learning facilitated by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health and is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents' wellbeing. To be eligible to enrol you must reside or work in Essex. No more than one course in the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme to be taken per week in order to apply learning in daily life before further courses are undertaken.

This course does not lead to a qualification

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex. This course is for anyone who wishes to boost their resilience and develop a self-care plan that nurtures and supports their wellbeing. This course is not suitable for those who are currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty or psychological confusion.

What can I expect to learn?
You will gain an introduction to strategies to help build emotional resilience. Topics include looking at how food can improve mood, the benefits of sleep, exercise and relaxation, and tips and strategies to achieve an optimistic mind set.

How will I learn?
This course is taught by two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Teaching methods include tutor presentations, group and individual discussion and activities.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Feedback will be given regularly by your course tutors and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own learning and record your feedback in your individual learning plan.

Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life between sessions, to help develop personal strategies to improve wellbeing.

What will I need to provide?
A notepad and pen for notetaking.

There is no charge for this course.
