Description
Retrofit Advisors will play a key role as the UK reduces its carbon emissions by improving energy efficiency and retrofitting many of the country's 27 million homes. A retrofit advisor is a customer service focus role, and they are able to give independent support and advice to homeowners or residents, with a view to help them understand retrofit and the impact it will have on their property. They also provide administrative support throughout the retrofit project, as they liaise with assessors, coordinators, designers, and installers to ensure everything is going to plan.
This course will be delivered using a blended learning approach. Dates of online live group sessions will be provided at interview. One to one dates will be arranged with the course tutor.
The cost for this course is £1300, however you may be eligible for funding if you live or work in the Braintree District Council area.

What Will Happen At My First Lesson
You will be fully inducted onto the course, which will include course expectations, structure and an overview of the course content. Your tutor will then lead you through a variety of learning activities that will support and guide you to start the written work, which demonstrates your understanding of this subject area.

NOCN Level 3 Award in Domestic Retrofit Advice
Who is this course for?
To become a Retrofit Advisor you must have experience of working in the retrofit industry or a recognised retrofit (minimum Level 2 certificate in Understanding Domestic Retrofit) or construction qualification.
At least 6 months Customer Service experience.
A relevant Skills Qualification Certificate and CV or reference from your employer will be required to support your application.
Initial Assessment -
You will be required to complete a BKSB English assessment, complete a pre course questionnaire and attend a one to one Teams meeting with the course Tutor, to ensure your suitability for this course.

How will I learn?
There is a mix of online group sessions, research, e-learning, and one to one support sessions with your allocated Tutors
During the class sessions your tutor will use a number of different teaching and learning methods, for example; presentations, interactive activities, including discussions, questions and answers.
These sessions will be supported by learning resources that you can review at home and these will enable you to complete the written work required to meet the standards for the 4 units.
Once you have completed your portfolio of work you will be invited to a final assessment where you will be able to present your knowledge through a presentation and a professional discussion
How will I know how well I am doing?
During each group class session a variety of assessment methods will be used e.g directed or group questioning and discussions. You will complete a Learning Log at the end of each session and your tutor will provide you with verbal and written feedback to support and guide your learning.
You will be allocated a Tutor who will provide you with one to one support and guidance through Teams meetings and these will be evidence through written contact logs and you will recieve verbal and written feedback on your assignments.
Will I need to do extra work at Home?
Your class sessions will be accessed remotely.
You will be expected to complete a portfolio of written work. To support this part of the course you will be expected to carry out additional research and reading.
What will I need to provide?
You will need access to a computer with a reliable internet connection and camera to enable you to access the class sessions, one to one meetings via Teams and to enable you to access our chosen online portal, for research purposes and to complete written assignments.
Pen and paper to make notes during class sessions and any support meetings you have with your tutor.
