This Entry Level 3 qualification provides learners with a range of skills and knowledge. Learners will develop an understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability that will support progress to further learning across a range of subjects.

What Will Happen At My First Lesson
You will meet with your Tutor via Teams to discuss the course structure, expectations and content, this is further to the discussion you had at your interview. This will allow you to discuss any outstanding questions you may have. Your Tutor will also induct you onto the e- learning portal.

To achieve this qualification you will need to complete all of the e-learning modules and complete the accompanying worksheets.

Who is this course for?
This Entry Level 3 qualification is suitable for anyone who would like to develop an understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Initial Assessment -
You will be required to complete a BKSB English assessment, complete a subject specific questionnaire and attend a meeting with the course tutor, to discuss the course objectives, structure and content and to ensure your suitability for this course. You may also be eligible for funding for this course, this will also be discussed.
What can I expect to learn?
This qualification aims to introduce learners to sustainability and develop their awareness of the environment, considering how consumption levels can impact on the environment and how reducing waste can support the environment. Learners will explore their carbon footprint and consider different ways that they can reduce it, including ways to improve energy efficiency where they live or work. Different sources of energy are explored, and learners will conduct basic research into how renewable energy is developed and recognising common issues with renewable energy sources.
Learners will complete 4 units:
Carbon Awareness
Improving Energy Efficiency
Sources of Energy
Sustainability and Environmental Awareness.
How will I learn?
You will be supported by a tutor throughout the course, who will meet with you remotely to assess your progress, through discussions and questioning as you work through the 4
E-learning modules.
These knowledge based modules will include questioning, so you can self-assess your own progress.
Once you have completed the 4 e-learning modules, you will complete the accompanying worksheets, which will demonstrate your understanding of this subject matter at this level. Your tutor will mark the worksheets and will provide you with verbal and written feedback.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will monitor your progress throughout the course and feedback to you accordingly during meetings. Feedback will be recorded in writing onto a contact log.
There are self-assessment questions throughout the e-learning modules, to help check your understanding as you progress through the course.
Your tutor will provide you with verbal and written feedback once your worksheets have been submitted for marking.
Will I need to do extra work at Home?
The 4 e-learning modules can be studied flexibly at home, however your tutor will agree an end date for you to complete your course by..
One to one tutor support can be accessed remotely via Teams.
What will I need to provide?
You will need access to a computer with a reliable internet connection and camera, to enable you to access Teams for meetings and our chosen e-learning and contact portals.
Pen and paper to make notes during any support meetings you have with your tutor.
