Description

This 2-week course is designed to help families support both their children's and their own mental wellbeing. Each session lasts 2 hours and focuses on practical strategies and understanding mental health.

Week 1: Supporting Your Primary-Aged Child's Mental Wellbeing

Learn about the importance of mental wellbeing for children.
Recognise signs of mental health issues in primary-aged children.
Discover practical strategies to support your child's mental health.
Participate in interactive activities to apply what you've learned.

Week 2: Supporting Your Own Mental Wellbeing

Understand the importance of self-care for parents.
Identify signs of stress and burnout.
Explore effective self-care strategies and mindfulness exercises.
Develop a personal wellbeing plan through interactive activities.

Join us to gain valuable insights and tools to enhance the mental wellbeing of your family.
This course is for parents & carers of children attending Great Totham Primary School ONLY.

What is this course about?
This course will help you understand what anxiety is and how you can help your child to manage this.

Who is the course for?
This course is for parents/carers and grandparents of children living in Essex.

What can I expect to learn?
You will have an understanding of how you can help your child manage their anxiety. You will be given strategies on how to discuss this and support your child as well.

How will I learn?
The sessions will be facilitated by the tutor in an informal and relaxed environment.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will be given tutor feedback at the end of each task. The tutor will work with you to support you with any individual issues that you may be experiencing.

Will I have to do any work at home?
You will be given exercises to try out at home.

What will I need to provide?
Just yourself! But a pen and some paper may be useful to note down some strategies.

Are there any other costs?
There are no extra costs associated with this course.
