Description
A 2-week course online live in the ACL Mental Health And Wellbeing Programme exploring causes and impact of bullying. This comprehensive course will look at equipping individuals with effective strategies to overcome the trauma associated with bullying within a safe and supportive environment for individuals who have past experiences of this, empowering them to heal, build resilience, and reclaim their well-being. Join us on this journey of empowerment, healing, and personal growth as we work together to address bullying and its lasting effects. You will need a current laptop/PC with webcam, microphone, internet connection and be able to access websites.
What Qualification/level is this course?
This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development.
Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must reside or work within Essex.
This course is for those wishing to understand the impact of bullying and take back control over their mental wellbeing. This course is not suitable for those who are currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty or psychological confusion.
What can I expect to learn?
The course will explore a range of factors around bullying and the trauma that this generates by covering these topics:
• To help learners understand definitions of bullying and the causes of bullying.
• Strategies for dealing with workplace bullying.
• Discuss the legacy of bullying
• Explore practical tools for self-care and greater self-esteem
How will I learn?
Classes are with two tutors who have professional and lived experience of mental health. Learning activities will include tutor presentations, group discussions, group and individual activities, individual reflection and a chance to ‘check-in’ at each session in a supportive virtual classroom learning environment.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutors will give feedback as appropriate in short course to help you gauge your progress and you will be encouraged to reflect on your own development.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
You will be encouraged to practice techniques in everyday life, to help develop personal strategies that build resilience and confidence.
What will I need to provide?
You will need a current laptop/PC with webcam, microphone, internet connection and be able to access the MS Teams platform used for our virtual classroom. You may also wish to take notes either digitaly or with a notepad and pen.
What is the cost of this course?
There is no charge for this course. This course is funded by Essex County Council to support its residents’ wellbeing.
