What Qualification/level is this course?
This course will provide a basic level of understanding and experience in smart devices (eg mobile phones / tablets) for everyday life.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for individuals who may feel uncertain or unconfident with technology. This course will empower participants to navigate the digital world with ease and confidence.
What can I expect to learn?
In this course, you'll learn to customise settings, secure your device, use WhatsApp (if appropriate), manage emails and storage, handle contacts, install and manage apps, use built-in features, understand digital terms, and understand essential safety practices.
How will I learn?
The classroom based learning will be a mixture of demonstrations, discussions and lots of hands on practice using the devices in our IT suites. There will an experienced tutor to help and guide you at all times.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will give feedback as appropriate throughout the course to help you gauge your progress. Feedback may be verbal or written. You will record your progress on an individual learning plan.
Will I have to do any work at home ?
No homework will be set but it is highly recommended that all new skills are put into practice outside of the class.
What will I need to provide?
You will need a notepad and pen for making notes. It may also help to bring your own smart device with you to practice your skills in real time.
