This hands-on course aims to develop students' skills in creating beautiful, high-quality silver jewellery using silver clay techniques. Suitable for anyone with an interest in developing this versatile and sustainable method of silverclay jewellery making, no previous experience required.

What can I expect to learn?
You will learn: 1. Introduction to Silver Clay: Understanding the properties and potential of silver clay as a medium for jewellery making. 2. Basic Techniques: Learning essential techniques such as rolling, texturing, cutting, and shaping silver clay. 3. Firing and Finishing: Techniques for torch and kiln firing, as well as polishing and finishing the final pieces. 4. Creative Projects: Designing and creating unique jewellery pieces such as pendants, earrings, and charms. 5. Advanced Techniques (optional): Exploring more complex techniques like stone setting, mold making, and combining silver clay with other materials. At the end of the course you will have complete at least one finished silver item

How will I know how I am progressing?
The tutor will provide developmental feedback throughout to ensure you get the most from your learning with ACL. You will be encouraged to record your learning to support continued reflection and development of your gained skills and provide two-way feedback with your tutor and peers.

Will I have any homework?
Home study is optional but you will be encouraged to write up demonstration notes and take photos of your work to support ongoing development and retention of learning.

What will I need to provide?
Please wear closed to shoes and tie long hair back. Bring an apron to the class. All the tools you ill need for this course are available to use at our centre, but you will need to purchase between 10g and 20g of silver clay. The recommended supplier is www.metalclay.co.uk and purchase Art clay silver (fine silver) which comes in 7g, 10g, 20g and bigger sizes. It is best to buy smaller packs as the clay can dry out quickly once opened.
