Who is this course for?
This is a Level 3 course. You must undertake an initial assessment prior to enrolling on this course. If you are unable to attend on the Hairdressing Pre Course Assessment dates shown, please leave your contact details at the relevant centre and the tutor will call you to arrange a mutually convenient time.

How will I learn?
The classroom based learning will be a mixture of demonstrations, discussions and lots of hands on practice. You also get to take part in a Hair competition to show case your skills. There will an experienced tutor to help and guide you at all times.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will give feedback as appropriate throughout the course to help you gauge your progress. Feedback may be verbal or written. You will record your progress on an individual learning plan.

Will I need to do extra work at home?
No homework will be set but it is highly recommended that all new skills are put into practice outside of the class.

What will I need to provide?
You will need a notepad and pen for making notes. Additional equpiment will be discussed with yout Tutor As a learner with us, you will have access to the online version of Office 365. Please note that the online version may have features that differ from desktop versions you have previously used. LEARNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF ONE CLIENT EACH PER WEEK ONCE THE SALON IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Are there any other costs?
Are there any other costs? Learners will discuss at induction and be required to purchase the following items: 2 black hand towels. Tunic & Trousers (approximate cost £25 per item) and worn with own black shoes. Black leggings may be worn with long line tunics only. Basic Hairdressing starter kit included in the course fees. Please note it is your responsibility to replace any items of the kit that become unusable or lost. Additional resources as advised by the tutor at interview

What will I learn?
The course will provide the knowledge and practical skills necessary to demonstrate a professional approach in the workplace including the need for appropriate communication with clients and colleagues, units will include: Working in the hair industry; Salon reception duties; Consultation support for colleagues on hair services; Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks; Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques; Colour and lighten the hair to create a variety of looks; Creative Hairdressing Design Skills; Colour Correction. In addition you will need to understand and implement good working relationships with colleagues and clients.
