As communities become more diverse, the role of community interpreters is more important than ever in ensuring equal access to public services. This Level 2 Certificate is designed for speakers of other languages who want to develop the skills and knowledge needed to support individuals in navigating essential services such as healthcare, education, and social care. What Qualification/level is this course?
The role of the community interpreter is becoming increasingly important, particularly in regions with many minority linguistic communities. Community interpreters act as bridges between these communities and public services, enabling access to services and situations that would otherwise be inaccessible. This qualification helps learners who are speakers of other languages develop the necessary language and skills to train as community interpreters at Level 3 and Level 4.

Entry Criteria
There are no specific entry criteria for this course. However, it is beneficial for learners to have completed the Level 1 Award in Understanding Community Interpreting.

How Will I Learn?
Learning will be facilitated through a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and optional voluntary placements. This approach ensures that learners gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
