Suitable for all, no previous experience necessary.
What can I expect to learn?
There are 3 mandatory units:
Understanding the use of interpersonal skills where you will explore a range of interpersonal skills, understanding their importance and application in different scenarios.
Demonstrating interpersonal skills by learning how to effectively use interpersonal skills, make a positive first impression and use verbal and non-verbal interpersonal skills to improve your interactions and relationships with others, whether professional or personal.
Understanding assertiveness and self-esteem through self reflection, identification of own and others behaviours that affect and impact on self-esteem.
Thorughout each theme there is an emphasison the ethical considerations, setting boundaries and appropriate use of these skills.
How will I learn?
Sessions will be dynamic with discussions, presentations, practical group and individual assignments and tasks to apply knowledge in a range of contexts. These are designed to support evidence of learner competence to meet the criteria for each unit for successful achievement of the level 1 award.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Tutor will give feedback as appropriate ithroughout the course to help you gauge your progress. You will be encouraged to reflect and record your learning that will be compiled within a portfolio of evidence that meets the assessment criteria set by the awarding body to achieve this qualification
Individual targets will be negotiated and agreed with your tutor at the start of the course to support successful outcomes
Will I have to do any work at home?
You will be expected to reflect on your learning and undertake further research, with a minimum expectation of 2 - 4 hours per week home study.
What will I need to provide?
Notepad and pen for note taking.
