Description
Aims to develop understanding and skills that are essential for working in a housekeeping environment; working with others and improving own performance. Including developing knowledge for housekeeping to maintain safe and hygienic practice. Plus, extend knowledge in the area of working effectively in the hospitality team.
What Qualification/level is this course?
The Level 2 Diploma in Housekeeping focuses on the key concepts for maintaining safe and hygienic practice. Learners will gain confidence in building their skills that are essential for housekeeping in a health and social care environment. Learners will extend their knowledge in the area of working effectively in the hospitality team
Who is the course for?
This qualification is aimed at hospitality staff who work in a health and social care work setting.
What can I expect to learn?
The qualification comprises of the following core mandatory units:
Maintain a safe, hygienic, and secure working environment
Work effectively as part of a hospitality team
Cleaning and servicing a range of housekeeping areas
Collect linen and make beds
Clean windows from the inside
Use of different chemicals and equipment in housekeeping
Maintain housekeeping supplies
Clean, maintain and protect hard floors
Clean and maintain soft floors and furnishings.
How will I learn?
Our blended approach means that our programmes are flexible and enable learners to experience a range of learning and support opportunities in a variety of formats such as in the workplace by observation, using our online platform or at a local ACL centre.
The learner will have a dedicated tutor who they will meet (online or face to face) once a month who will guide them through their course. Additionally, there are additional enrichment activities on our online platform to give the learner a wider perspective for working in adult care.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Learners will have an assigned tutor who will communicate on the online platform and when needed telephone or Microsoft Teams.
Work will be regularly assessed and marked, and learners will be provided with encouraging developmental feedback.
Targets will be set at different stages of the course to enable learners to meet personal and course objectives.
Will I have to do any work at home?
We recommend at least 7 - 9 hours a week to complete research, reading and home study.
Typically, the course can be completed in 8 months.
What will I need to provide?
Learners will need to have access to a computer or device to enable them to visit the online platform to complete and submit work.
Telephone to enable tutor contact.
Pen/pad of paper for taking notes for example to use during one to one phone meetings.
Are there any other costs?
There are no other costs in addition to the course fee.
